We have had another successful year at W4G Security, full of highlights and new achievements for individuals and the company as a whole. We have seen a continued growth in our clients requesting a variety of security solutions both at our Devon and London bases which we can only hope will continue in 2019! Take a look at how we have created bespoke security plans for events and other high-risk situations and continued this success throughout the past 12 months.
The start of 2018 saw us working hard to achieve a number of industry security accreditations. With hard work from all the staff involved, we received our accreditation for CHAS health and safety in January and Construction Line shortly thereafter. Our big achievement of the year was achieving our SIA Approved Contractor Scheme Accreditation after a thorough audit in February.
We continued providing event security for a number of festivals in Devon and London throughout the year, including Greendays Festival in Chiswick and The Curious Arts Festival in Hampshire. Both events were particular highlights for the company as it was our third year of providing security for both. Curious Arts saw the largest number of visitors to date and we were able to put together a brilliant team of officers. The whole event was a huge success, and we look forward to joining the team again next year.
The launch of our new Website took place in August and we have had great feedback from clients and associates. We are really pleased to have it up and running after working so hard with the brilliant team at Media Street.
We started off the year with a handful of private events in and around London, including the Argent Event at King’s Cross where our close protection officers provided security for a high-end apartment block opening.
We have continued to work with existing clients and we have also won many new contracts this year. We have a number of new resident security sites with close protection officers providing around the clock security, as well as a new site located in busy Covent Garden, and new asset protection work in and around London. A notable new contract we won was to provide security for the USNS Bruce C. Heezen ship based at Falmouth Docks, where our security guards were received high commendation for their work.
This was a big highlight for us this year as we deployed two of our top officers to the site and received a letter of appreciation from the Chief Mate of the ship. He wrote to send his highest commendation to one of our officers who detected a Carbon Monoxide leak one night and immediately evacuated the ship, and in doing so, prevented injury and loss of multiple lives. The contract went off without a hitch, and we have been invited back to provide further security when the ship returns to dock.
A big thank you to all our officers for all of their continued hard work throughout the year. As the company grows, we have seen a rise in the number of employees we require. We have a brilliant team of highly trained, experienced security guards who have worked hard throughout the year and represented the company to their fullest potential.
We are looking forward to working with existing clients and new clients as we head into the new year. We have lots of exciting prospects going forward and we look forward to expanding even further in 2019, starting by moving into our new offices in February!
